On March 25 (Fri.)-26 (Sat.), INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW 2022 “ZCON” by Susumu Hirasawa was held at the Tokyo Garden Theater. This is a summary of the concert and the situation at the time.
What is “INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW”?
“INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW” is an innovative music concert by Susumu Hirasawa.
There are three unique points of the “INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW.”
First, this is a music concert, but it has a story like a movie.
Second, the audience can participate in the concert by reacting and can change the storyline, setlist, and ending. This is why the concert is called an “INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW.
Third, the Internet audience can also participate in the concert.
“ZCON” is the 13th INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW after a 7-year interval.
The story is completely in Japanese, so it is difficult for English users to understand the story of the concert. However, this is not a problem because it is a very high context story that even the Japanese cannot fully understand.
If you want to enjoy the story, I recommend you to buy the previous DVD of INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW “WORLD CELL 2015”. You can enjoy the story with English subtitles.
Venue-Tokyo Garden Theater
It takes 10 minutes on foot from International Exhibition Hall Station, famous for Comic Market.
The main album “BEACON” was played in the store area, kids’ area, restrooms, food court, etc. Everyone was very excited to hear the music in such a mysterious situation.
There were also special discounts for showing the ticket.

The background music for the opening of the venue, this time consisting mainly of a song by a UK artist named Coil. This is the best song that creates the unique exotic feeling of Hirasawa live.

In this concert, the audience in the venue had to choose two ways R or L, and this table shows the result.
Impressions
After the venue went dark, the story began with birds chirping and blue lighting like a searchlight. The prologue is almost the same as the one previously released officially.
CALL！！
The audience applauded and Hirasawa appeared.
The first song is “COLD SONG”. This is the same as the previous Fuji Rock 21.
The flashy guitar performance was cool.
The next song is “TRAVELATOR” from KAKU-P-MODEL. I was surprised because this is the first time to play the song of KAKU-P-MODEL in the interactive live show.
After that, the performance continued and we had to choose the way.
This live concert was held to celebrate the release of the new album “BEACON”. Some of the songs were performed at the previous Fuji Rock 21, but many of them were performed for the first time at the live concert. Almost every song has a new arrangement.
Besides, P-MODEL songs, Art Blind, LEAK, and ASHURA CLOCK were also performed. I was especially surprised and impressed by ASHURA CLOCK. This song is arranged by Hirasawa, but the original version was made by Hajime Fukuma. He was a member of P-MODEL, and he was dead at the beginning of this year. The epic tune to defeat the guardians and the background story of this struck me.
I am satisfied with these performances, and it was interesting to see the story actually change in response to the audience. Definitely, this is not an easy task, but Mr. Hirasawa did it. I was impressed by his attitude of making the difficult possible.

Epilogue
ZCON” is finished and he has moved on to a new project. The next guitar album and new songs(?) will be released. I look forward to hearing when it comes out.
